SHERIFF Update released Feb 4/16

THERE IS A TIMED COMPONENT TO THIS UPDATE. ONCE players complete a quest called FIRST ROBBER asking players to catch 5 robbers, a 2 day timer will appear with next goal asking players to catch 90 robbers. You will notice that you will receive 2 new goal icons, one will be with a black dog (End of Justice), and the other one will have profile of Sheriff Steve Urgent Order) & timer will be set at 00:00:00, refresh your game & you will see that change to 2 days. Side note that the goal asking to catch 150 robbers IS NOT TIMED & totals from the timed portion will carry over & count




BEFORE YOU COMPLETE THE GOAL CALLED "FIRST ROBBER" ASKING TO CATCH 5 ROBBERS, FIRST STOCK UP ON ITEMS CRAFTED INSIDE SHERIFF'S OFFICE & 2 items from SMITHY  so that you have a good supply of crafted items. Then do exchanges with the Sheriff until you have  at least 100 Sheriff Stars to cover the timed event just to be on the safe side. You will then need the remaining Sheriff Stars to complete the goal asking to catch 150 robbers, but for that one you can work at your leisure

There will NOT be any new territory introduced, however, if you look at the Map area, there will be sheriff stars/badges next to territory icons where you can visit & catch robbers as well as click on tracks

Players need to get ready to play GF's version of Cops and Robbers!  Help SHERIFF STEVE track down evidence, follow clues and dig up footprints left in frontier dirt all over our Frontier & territories.   Pay the Sheriff with crafted items to earn SHERIFF STARS which are then used to catch ROBBERS/BANDITS who roam our lands!

We will be building a Sheriff's Office which will craft a variety of recipes used to pay our Sheriff.  The Sheriff's Office will have 3 stage builds (info further below)

TIPS
  • Re: Robbers. When you are ready to catch robbers, they can be found on Cloudy Lands & territories marked with a Sheriff's Star on the map. Easiest way without spending all your food is to refresh Cloudy Lands, click on 3 robbers, then refresh again & click on 3, refresh & click on 3 & repeat. For those who have the Clipper, you can travel to the Archaeological Island as well!! If you have difficulty locating robbers on any of the designated lands, use the HELP button inside the goal & you will be brought directly to the robber! Sometimes they are hiding behind objects, so be patient until they move out (or simply move things yourself to reveal time)
  • Players will require SILVER COINS. Silver coins were introduced into the game Jan 14/16 with the Valley update. The coins are obtained by doing 'exchanges' in Forester's Shelter located at the VALLEY territory.   • BLANK FORMS (crafted on printing press) will be required. Stock up on PAPER, PENS & INK & craft blank forms ahead of time!
  • Start stocking up on SHARES (Share count appears to be the total you have in your regular Stock Exchange & any way you can get shares, they will count - using new warehouse, completing daily quests & Stock Exchange using documents + gold, Shares are also produced from the Shop, Tavern & Watchmaker structures.). As well, you will need plenty of SILVER COINS from the Valley update. yes, SILVER COINS will be used in trading with the Sheriff to earn his stars/badges, and if you don't got 'em, then you are at a standstill until you do get 'em so you can complete the exchange! Happy berry picking & all that!
  • There is a timed component with this update. Once you complete a goal asking to catch 5 robbers called "First Robber", a timer will appear & players will be asked to catch 90 robbers. Only this goal is timed. There will be another goal asking players to catch 150 robbers, however this is NOT timed.  BEFORE YOU COMPLETE goal asking to catch 5 robbers, craft plenty of items from Sheriff's Office and trade with Sheriff so that you can stock up & have approx. 250 stars on hand, or at least enough to whip you through 90 robbers! Stock up on stars first then you won't even worry about the 'timer' :)

  • See build stages & recipes below & begin crafting & stocking NOW! The more you do now, the less you do when goals rolls out.   • Buildings required to craft recipes include Writer's Desk (inside Clyde's House), Writer's House, Printing Press , Laboratory for craft gears, along with base crafting structures (smithy, etc)
  • We will be using 2 items which were quiet for some time with no apparent uses: Gears & Pinewood. Remember to check your Inventors Collection as you can exchange that collection in for extra GEARS. Gears are crafted in Laboratory as well. Always check all of your Collections as you can do some pretty handy exchanges!!!!

SHERIFF'S OFFICE is a new building we will need to build & craft recipes such as witness statements, handcuffs, lattice/grate, evidence, lock, etc ... see more info below re: Sheriff's Office, build stages & recipes!

SHERIFF - Players will be required to purchase & place the Sheriff. He acts as A TEMPORARY EXCHANGE area whereby players craft the shown recipe he wants for payment. Craft & pay the Sheriff & you will earn a Sheriff's Star. The items the Sheriff will ask for are random and HE chooses what you make & give him! Be prepared! Once you have completed all the goals in this update, your Sheriff will convert into a item-giving decoration you can claim from every 24 hours, so don't forget to click on him when you are totally done with all goals **Pics of exchange items are included in heading below under "Sheriff Stars"

SHERIFF'S STARS are needed in order for you to click on (capture robbers/bandits). Instead of needing energy, you need Sheriff's Stars. You get Sheriff Stars by 'paying' or doing exchanges with the Sheriff. Examples of items you will need to earn stars: locks, shares, lattice, whistle, evidence, handcuffs, etc...pretty much everything crafted in Sheriff's office plus shares & silver coins


















ROBBERS/BANDITS will be roaming our main Frontier land and territories. If looking at Map of all territories, lands with robbers will be identified with a Sheriff's Star/Badge. Robbers/Bandits repopulate once captured (ie, you caught all of them on main land, refresh game & they will be there again). This may save players having to use food to travel to other territories. CLICKING ON/CATCHING ROBBERS WILL PAY OFF! Robbers will give YOU collection items, experience, energy & badly needed recipe items/items such as cheque books, shares, silver coins, etc!  Now when was the last time you heard of robbers giving and not taking??

TRACKS ON THE GROUND (FOOTPRINTS IN DIRT) will be located all over the place. Clicking on these will yield goodies (cast of footprints, experience, gold coins & collection items). Be careful, they require 1 energy per click.  Footprints in dirt will repopulate and cover our land just like our snowdrifts did! Video link for FOOTPRINT release items
