TIPS, HINTS, TRICKS & SUGGESTED RECOMMENDATIONS

Blog page created December 2015

IF YOU HAVE TIPS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE INCLUDED ON THIS BLOG PAGE, FEEL FREE TO SEND A MESSAGE BY CLICKING ON EITHER THE EMAIL FEATURE OR LIVE CHAT LINK FEATURE LOCATED ON RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THIS PAGE!! I would love to hear from players & share tips for everyone!

If you are a new player or simply interested in reading up as a 'refresher', visit the "Info for New Players" which has some really good starter tips & suggestions! CLICK HERE TO VIEW INFO!! .

TIP!
Not getting clicks on Totems, Circus Tents & other clickables? PLACE THEM IN THE AREA YOU SEE LOADING ON YOUR SCREEN WHEN YOU FIRST LOAD YOUR FRONTIER (I call that the loading zone)! This falls in the area where the broken boat is in the river. The land you see around that area is the base loading area. When friends are visiting your frontier, they will also see that area & by having easy & quick access to your clickables eliminates visitors from having to waste time searching your frontier. Many players will not take time to go 'searching'.

TIP!
Getting fish, small fish & big fish can be a bit tedious, crafting hooks, rods & baits, then fishing....well, here's a TIP to get all the fish without fishing wink emoticon
Get Fish, Small Fish & Big Fish without fishing! Simply produce Sea Traps!!!
Sea traps can be crafted in the House Boat located at the Coast, or you can purchase a Bathyscaphe in Shop, under Decorations for 69 GF Bucks produces Sea Trap & items for Sea Collection. Stocking up on sea traps will eventually pay off!!! Click here to view video showing sea traps & the items they produce!! http://tinyurl.com/Sea-Trap-Video :)

TIP!

Maximize energy!
The above screen shot of energy bar is my energy bar after performing first 200 guest actions on tents, totems, tables & ferris wheels + claiming on my own 5 full totems I put aside. This does not include any coffee I crafted or energy vials in my warehouse!

- When you have saved up enough GF bucks, purchase the Coffee House! You can craft your own coffee which in turn gives you ENERGY. Throughout gaming, make coffee & try to save them up! Use them when needed! Click here for coffee house build stages, coffee recipes, etc

- Totems are ideal for providing energy! Totems do not take up a lot of space, are easy to build & do not cost too much in coins.  WHEN YOUR TOTEM IS FULL, if you have patience, do not click/claim on your full totem. Move it to another area on your frontier (as a courtesy for neighbors so they don't waste time clicking on full totems) & save these totems for when you have a new goal roll out or if you find yourself in a bind needing energy! This point is also applicable for circus tents, festive tables & ferris wheels...and any 'baskets with treats' that may still be around.
- Stay tuned to the 'sneak peek' section of blog for upcoming goals. Review information. Players should now realize that goals roll out on Thursdays (sometimes they sneak a goal in on another day of the week, but the pattern is usually on Thursdays).  It may be tempting to just jump right into the goal, but again, review information first prior to beginning goal. Some times the update will have a goal requesting players to visit neighbors & perform guest actions (clicks). If you have ample supply of 'extra' guest actions, it would be a good idea to visit all neighbors & use your first 200 regular guest actions  & click on totems, tables, circus tents & ferris wheels in order to rack up energy. Once 200 regular guest actions are done, your energy bar will be stocked up & you will move throughout goal without having to 'sit' & wait for energy...gives you a good heads start! If you have a goal that asks you to perform guest actions, use your spares - that's what they are for!
- Check your warehouse (under Other tab) for energy vials, etc. Use them if needed or simply continue to save those up for a rainy day!
Energy Vials are found in Warehouse, under Other tab. Each vial = 15 energy

- Always check Shop for new decorations that give energy. Yes, it seems a decoration giving 1 energy every 24 hrs is piddly, but as you start accumulating these decorations, you will find that the energy claimed comes in handy...some decorations release energy at different intervals so it's worth while to invest in purchasing these helpful items!

TIP!

DO IT RIGHT! SEND FREE GIFT ITEMS THAT YOUR FRIENDS HAVE TAKEN TIME TO PUT ON THEIR WISHLISTS!

Yes WE ALL struggle with needing items from gifting & it's an issue that is affecting many players, preventing or halting goal progress. This issue has been forwarded to developers by myself, as well as many others. IN THE MEANTIME, there are a few things you can do. In my blog, I usually have upcoming goal info well in advance (1 to 3 weeks before goal rolls out). I mention TIPS in each goal section, including what free gift(s) will be needed & to immediately update wishlist so that stockpiling can begin. This will not help you now if you are in mid-goal, but will be helpful if you stay tuned to these blogs, know what is ahead, & ensure you have a good foundation of friends who know how to send wishlist gifts properly! Sending of gifts does work & items can begin to stockpile, but you have to do it in advance. A trick is also to put ONLY 1 to 2 items on your wishlist as those will be the 2 sent by friends & you will notice your totals increasing! Keep wishlist updated, switch out 2 items for another 2 items, By having just a few items on wishlist, you will get more of those items quicker. Here is my blog link, see the Sneak Peek section for upcoming goal information http://goldenfrontiergameinformationindex.blogspot.ca/ smile emoticon
IF YOU HAVE YOUR WISHLIST UPDATED WITH ITEMS YOU NEED & IF YOUR FRIENDS KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY SEND ITEMS TO YOU (& YOU BACK TO THEM), THIS WILL EVENTUALLY PAY OFF! Again, hopefully we will see either an easier way to obtain these items or see a reduction in the need for the items in recipes, but for now, we just need to make sure that players keep wishlist updated, but more importantly, players need to know how to send!!!
Players are more than welcome to copy & share this around so it helps others with gifting without reducing item counts in warehouse as well as ensuring we all get items we 'wish' for: GOLDEN FRONTIERhttp://tinyurl.com/Gifting-Wishlist-Items smile emoticon
GIFTING CAN BE A PAIN BUT IT NEEDS TO BE DONE. We all have our own style, however, this is for those players who are unsure how to gift & also to those who do not know that you can gift to more than 25 friends daily!
To send wishlist gifts (example will use Grass & Glue)
1. Find gift to send & click on "Present"
2. Click on "Show those who look for" button, by doing this all neighbors wanting 'grass' will be displayed (button will have changed to "Show All")
3. Select up to 25 names to gift to, click on Send at the bottom
4. Click on gold left/right arrows that change the gift to the next gift (example Glue) & repeat steps of selecting 25 friends & send. Choose next gift using arrows and repeat sending in batches of 25. You can flip back and forth between gifts sending in batches of 25 until there are no more names to send to http://tinyurl.com/Gifting-Wishlist-Items :)

TIP!
DID YOU KNOW that there are several territories (with more coming in future updates) where players can build manufacturing structures (any structure which crafts recipes).  The best way to tell if a territory allows these structures to be placed/built is when you visit that territory, click on the Shop menu icon. If you then see the PRODUCTIONS tab, then that is a territory you can build on! Try it!

Now, there are SOME items being introduced which do not necessarily produce recipes, but rewards, etc & it may appear that players can only have ONE of them - this does not apply to ALL items which have a marked limit! ...Let's take the SNOWMEN for example. If you opened up your Shop, Productions tab, your snowmen menu will show as 0/1. Once you purchase & place snowman, it will show as 1/1 or changed so that you can purchase using coins (depends on the item in productions). YOU CAN INDEED PURCHASE MORE! Simply head over to a territory which displays the PRODUCTION tab in your Shop, and purchase/place again on that territory. To date, these are the following territories players can place manufacturing, including Cloudy Lands: Coast, River, Town, Valley & Mountain Pass. As more territories are introduced, remember that when visiting them, click on Shop menu icon and if the Production tab is visible, then that's another territory you can build on.  As for the other territories without an active Production tab, utilize those by planting & growing trees/crops, raising animals & placing reward decorations (item giving and non-item giving) on them!

TIP!
REMINDER to check your Collections for much needed resources! Over time, players build up a good assortment of collection items which fill up your collection sets.  Exchanging in collection sets can be very productive as well as rewarding!

TIP!
TIMED MISSIONS! Sometimes we dive into a timed mission without being prepared.  There are a few help sites that players have created which provide players with information about goals/quests (timed & un-timed).  It would be a good idea to have a look ahead at what will be needed, craft what you can ahead of time before you start the goal. Having a little bit or even the majority of items crafted ahead of time will allow you 'wiggle room' when you enter into the timed goal or timed component of a goal & the timer is activated. Here are 2 sites that house goal information for you to review!
